Today I had the pleasure of speaking with the Saintgits College of Engineering’s class about my five real-world blockchain in healthcare use-cases.
The event was live streamed on their Youtube channel.
My five cases described were:
- Medical Records
- Research integrity
- Supply Chain
As mentioned during the talk, there is quite a bit of cross-over between the topics. However, there is a good mix of cases that also encompass much of the problems that we have seen in the current COVID19 pandemic.
I recently spoke about blockchain in healthcare with a podcast with Singularity University AU. Similarly, I predicted blockchain in health to play a key role in the near future.
During Q&A at the conclusion of the talk and one of the audience members posed a question on possible use cases for blockchain in healthcare during the current pandemic.
the current COVID19 pandemic is actually really applicable to each of these use cases and solves real-world problems that can make a difference to healthcare today.Dr Robert Laidlaw, Secure Health CHain.

In conclusion, there are many great solutions for blockchain in healthcare that are ready to be deployed right now. Certainly the technology solves many new pandemic related problems. On the other hand, it is important to have a strong foundation in digital health and simply using blockchain will not create a perfect solution.
What are your top 5 use-cases for blockchain in healthcare? I’d love to hear from you in the comments down below. It certainly is an exciting time to be involved in digital health around the world and I would love to learn more about your views on how this innovative technology can help shape the future of your healthcare organization. See you next time, peace.
